Cello and Fretted Strings Arrangement Workshop
Saturday 10th August, The College of Piping, Otago St, Glasgow
Classes 10.30am - 4.30pm (lunch and refreshments included) followed by a session. There will be a Tattie Jam concert in the same venue that evening with half price entry plus a free glass of wine or fruit juice for workshop participants.
Tutors will be Seylan Baxter (cello) and Ruaridh Pringle (fretted strings)
Brian Murphy, Bowen and Emmett Technique practicioner, will give a talk and demonstration and offer sample sessions during the afternoon and early evening.
MP3s and sheet music of the tunes to be worked on will be sent out in advance and each participant will receive a DVD by post after the event of the arrangements played by Ruaridh and Seylan.
The workshop is suitable for cellists of intermediate to advanced standard and for players of guitar, mandolin, octave mandolin and bouzouki. Guitarists should have some experience of, or an interest in, DADGAD as this is the tuning that will be used.
